BIRDS

 

How many chambers do Birds hearts have? 4. They work muck like that of a human

 

Do birds have bladders? No.  They dont need one since their waste material is a wet, solid material

 

Do birds have ears? Yes. They are under the feathers

 

Is the blood of birds warmer or cooler? Warmer.  Their heart rate is much faster than ours

 

How many toes do birds have? 4

 

What is different about the bones of birds verses the bones of other animals? Lighter.  This enables them to fly.  The larger birds bones are heavier.

 

What is the purpose of bill shapes? Specialized for what they eat.  They are also very light weight.

 

How are the young fed?  Regurgitation.  The males usually do the hunting

 

Birds feet are also specialize for their purpose.  Ex. Woodpecker and Duck

 

Altricial:  naked week

 

Precocial:  hatched with feathers
